I first met Joan in her wedding day  September 1962 – I was her brother’s girlfriend.  We married March 1964 and then visited regularly.  We lived in Stafford so visits  to Fareham were   limited and we mostly stayed with Joan’s   parents.  We enjoyed seeing  both sets of cousins growing up and in later  years shared two holidays with  Joan and   Paul in Cornwall and the New Forest.  I last visited Joan in  2015 just before her 80th birthday (Brian was too ill to visit then)  and the following year  Marion and Michael brought her for a holiday near Lichfield and they visited my family and me  in  Stafford – we continued to have telephone chats until she went  into care
I  was very lucky to have such a pleasant sister-in-law.
